So there are several things in life that can be counted on and expected... routine day to day things like: the sun is going to rise, the moon will go through its phases, and two-year-old girls will throw a tantrum now and again. However, I must say, Ellery's tantrums are relatively few and far between in comparison to some.
The unexpected things in life are difficult to plan for and can be good or bad. One recent unexpected event has been all that's gone on with my teeth. Apparently I have some freakish root system going on in my number 12 tooth which has caused problems now in its two neighbors number 11 and 13. The good news is things are getting better and I am eating normal food (even cereal) again.
Another unexpected event is Ellery will be a big sister. Yes, unexpected. Sure we were planning on trying for another little stink butt this year but not till after the summer festivities. Although we're both excited we're crossing our fingers for A) a boy and B) that he's born as close to his due date as possible (January 7th); the further from Christmas the better. No offense to those of you with Christmas birthdays, but, I have to think that's gotta be the worst time of year for a birthday. Unless having the baby in December would give us a better tax break for the 2009 filing... then I guess that would be okay.
Although Millie and I are hoping for a boy (first grandson on the Roper side) we have no real great names picked out so as before (with the birth of Ellery), we'll take suggestions. Keep in mind "Speed" "Thrace" and "Gumpert" are already spoken for by other friends/family.

Oh my goodness, congratulations!! That is so fun and exciting!! You'd have an adorable little boy.
Congratulations! Yaaaaay, another cutie patootie added to the fam. I'm so happy for ya'll and for all of us to have another baby. Well let us know when you know what it is. Hope Millie is feeling okay. Love ya all, MOM
Sometime the unexpected seems like a pain in the butt, but can end up being pretty awesome. I am happy for you guys even though you don't want to have a kid that close to Christmas. I think it will be a boy! But even if it is a girl, Ellery will be an awesome big sister! I am very, very happy for the both of you!
I agree about Christmas kids getting the shaft sometimes, but you could aim for having the first baby of 2010 and getting all kinds of cool presents from the mainstream media!
I'm really, really happy for you guys and will be brainstorming boy names and rhyme with vegetables for the next six months! :)
WHAT?!? We had to read about this on the internet?!?! Even though you didn't tell us in person and waited until we were in Iowa to break the news, we are very excited for you!! Can't wait until January... or maybe December...
Yeah, not exactly how we WANTED to announce... sorry.
Hey congrats guys. I hope you have a boy too. Every Dad needs a son to play sports with.

Yeay!!! another little rug rat. I'm glad that the kids are finally getting cousions. What fun they'll have together. Ellery will be a fantastic sister, and I too hope it will be a boy:-)I'm devastated that Gumpert is taken, but there is still Melville, eh? Love ya!!
Well, so far the winning name is Chipotle... so unless we have a girl, or a better name presents itself, let's all get ready for Chipotle Webb!!!
Congrats you guys! How exciting! Boys are so fun!!! Hope you get one!
I totally dig the name Chipotle. The middle name could be Guacamole. You could call him Chip Guac for short. :)
