Who can't help but love what is going on in women's soccer around the U.S.?
This last week has seen a delicious explosion of fights (all out brawls - or as we like to call them "cat-fights") in women's soccer games. One local fight was a beautiful pony tail pull by a UNM Lobo player taking down a BYU player. Another fight resulted in not only a full team on team meow-rowr-fit-fit cat fight during a Rhode Island girl's high school soccer game, but the fighting spread to the bleachers! I'm proud to see our US fans getting into the spirit of the world's most popular sport... it's about time. Who knew all it took to get a bleacher riot going (for soccer) in the US was a cat fight.

Halloween movies
Here are a couple of movies from Halloween... so you can see the lights and awesomeness of Ellery's fire truck.
I appreciate Katie taking movies for us and I take full blame for not telling her before hand that our camera doesn't rotate movies upright if taken in with the camera held sideways (in portrait orientation).

Halloween 2009
As previously mentioned, this year for Halloween Ellery wanted to be a fire truck. I thought for sure she would change her mind before Halloween arrived since she's been on a Disney's Peter Pan kick for the last few weeks... watches it at least a few times a day - knows it by heart and quotes the dialogue and sings the songs along with the movie. However, she stayed true to her original desire with only one small change; instead of a red fire truck, she wanted to be a green one.
I was SO excited with her choice. Not only is it very original (not many fire truck costumes walkin around Halloween night) but I thought it would be fun to make. And it was.
It took a few weeks, perhaps dragged out by the fact that I didn't have many blocks of time to actually work on it, but I was happy with how it turned out. The neighborhood kids seemed to have liked it too.
We went to Millie's parent's neighborhood to Trick-or-Treat with Ellery's cousins. Brandon and Katie came along too, which was nice since they ended up being our film/camera crew.
In case you can't tell, Millie was a kitty (used the same costume Ellery wore last year), and I was Dr. Pepper. Get it.
I also actually carved a pumpkin this year. I usually don't cause I'm too anal and too critical of my carving. This year I went with a simple "Trick or Treat" design. I used my father-in-law's drywall saw - best carving tool ever, took me about 5 minutes to do.
October 30th is my father-in-law's birthday so they always get together to celebrate it with costumes, games and chili. Here are some costumes from the birthday party.
