Not only can I not clearly recall a single memory from my third year of life, I'm pretty sure I would have selected to block them if I had any. This was the year I went from being "the cutest baby in the world," to "Jacob, stop that you're bothering the baby!" Yes, this was the year Quentin was born.

Of course, he didn't come along until September, so I'm guessing I got to enjoy my last summer as the baby of the family. We did a lot of camping back then, and although my dad didn't take us fishing until I was in mid school (I think), Nephi and I tried our hand at it.... don't think we caught anything on this particular attempt.

Halloween 1982 was a good one... well, at least my costume was. They were good times, when a Mexican/White boy could dress as a black spokeswoman for a certain syrup company. Was this MY idea? Regardless... that's when Halloween costumes took more than running to Wal-Mart and buying some crap outfit. I have to admit, although I can't remember it, I'm glad I have a picture of how much my mom put into our costumes!

Looking back through the few pictures I do have (trying to spark a memory) I noticed that my first perm also happened this year, late 1982... that's Quentin in the background. The pictures were taken the same day. Thinking about it, I also recall loving "girl cheese samiches," only to find out they're not made with girls at all. Still, no better companion to a bowl of hot tomato soup!

So few pictures, and even fewer memories.

That fishing picture's totally funny!
Seems like you're remembering quite a bit. When did you snatch these pix?
I'm glad you did, this has been fun to read. Many memories, I have no regrets having you kids. All of you are my pride and joy my main reason for happiness in this life. Oh yeah and the grandkidlets too.
Ummmm, so here's the thing. I'm not questioning your mom in any way because she raised all of you to be smart and conscientious adults, but what's with the boy perm?
I am a whole year younger than you, so perhaps I just missed this trend altogether!
yeah... you missed the craze... it was spill over from the 70s. That also explains cross dressing for Halloween... I think. :)
wah-ha-ha... i especially love your 'enhancements'
what are you, a C? maybe a D even?
So were you the only one that got a perm or did everyone? Interesting! I am way impressed with the Halloween costumes. Can't wait for year 4.
