No... Not Most Valuable Player... Human Metapneumovirus (Meta-new-mo-virus) or hMPV.
That's what Ellery has tested positive for. Everything else came back negative. Treatment is similar to most other respiratory viruses including RSV. No more has been said about the spot on her lung and she's sounding better when she breathes, so it looks as though things are on the up and up.
We're not sure how much longer they'll keep her here but I know she needs to be able to eat well, maintain a good input/output of fluids and keep her oxygen saturation levels up on her own and so far, she seems to be doing the former two pretty well but she is still on nasal oxygen. The resident has just told me that if oxygen is the only thing keeping her here she could be sent home on oxygen... it'll be the doctor's call. I'm optimistic that she'll be going home later today, maybe not in time for March Madness tip off but still.
We really appreciate everyone's concern and prayers that have been offered on Ellery's behalf!! A special thanks to the Ropers and O'Neils too for their visits and Aayla babysitting help!
Ellery has done very well, considering how she has been bedridden for the past few days... for those of you who know Ellery, sitting still for even a few seconds is quite the accomplishment!
Nurses and staff have been great and she seems to have made great friends with them all... except the phlobotomists... still no love there - understandable.
Looks like we're out of the woods... Hopefully Aayla doesn't get sick now!

I'm glad she's doing better, that's so stressful and scary having little kids in the hospital! I hope she's out of there quickly and able to get back to normal life.
