Sleep, oh how I love sleep! I haven't gotten a great night's sleep since Aayla was born 9 weeks ago. Then last night happened! I fed her at about 9:30 and she was in bed asleep by 10:30. The most she's gone is 5 hours so when I woke up at 6am and realized she hadn't woken up all night, I first had to make sure she was still breathing, then did a celebration dance in my head!! Yay! What a good little sleeper I have! Seconds later I realized that getting a long stretch of sleep comes with an expense. For all you mothers who nursed your babies and have experienced engorgement, you know what I mean! Holy smokes!!! I was going to explode! I left the room to pump.....28 oz!!!! That's a record for me. I could have gotten more out but stopped early to save some for Aayla when she would decide to wake up and eat. She ended up waking up at 7am!! What a good girl. I still had plenty to feed her by the way.
Ellery time! She got her first hair cut last week. Well actually just some bangs. Abbie did a good job. I think they turned out cute. Ellery likes them too. She keeps saying, Abbie cut my hair! She's so cute!
Here is a before picture...
And here is the after pictures. What a cutie pie!

Yeah for sleep!!! I know I've got nothing on you with the whole 9 weeks and a newborn thing (though I shudder a little to think about what's coming my way in that department!) but Hazel's been sick and hasn't been sleeping through the night for the past 3 or 4 nights and it's been rough (again, not as bad as you've had it). :) But last night she woke up a couple of times but at least she didn't get out of bed and turn the TV on at 3 am like the last two nights! :) And Ellery, as always, looks beautiful.
I am so happy for you that she slept that long! I always dread the newborn stage because I turn into a monster when i don't get my sleep. I guess we have been in the same boat as you and Cari, well, kind of. We have Enok coughing like crazy, so I hear that at night, and now with a puppy, he has to go out in the middle of the night. Fortunately Bret takes him out. I did my time with middle of the night stuff, so Bret gets to deal with the dog.
Ellery is super cute. Good job on the bangs Abbie!
Engorged is an understatement. Millie puts Waldo to shame:

And yes, Ellery does look cute. Thanks Abbie! Great job!
Ok so since Jacob seems to write most of these posts, I tend to assume he's writing when I start reading. It hit me when I got to the word "engorgment" that this was indeed a Millie post. :) Maybe I should start checking for the author before I read haha! Congrats on getting some good sleep, I hope she continues to be a great sleeper for you!
