Edible Arrangement

Millie's sister Katie and her hubby Brandon have made a few edible arrangements for some of the recent family gatherings and they keep turning out SO cool! Katie really has an eye for decorating, be it cakes, homes or whatever... and I'm sure Brandon is good at taking orders and putting things where Katie wants them, so they make a good team at what they do.

Millie and I decided to give it a go ourselves. Unfortunately, Millie insists she doesn't have a creative bone in her body, which is sad because I know she can be very artistic if she's given a specific project to do - case in point, her past cake decorating endeavors. This project wasn't her cup of tea, and although she helped quite a bit by doing most of the prep work and skewering of fruit, she left the final compilation of the arrangement up to me.

In the end, it was a fun project, but nowhere near as good looking as Katie and Brandon's work. Maybe we just need more practice!

Looks really cool! By the way, I'm trying to feel bad for you about the injured knee, but I'm too busy trying to get the graphic image out of my brain! :)

Hey! It looks ever bit as good as Katie's. Way to go. And you're right about Millie. She is very artistic. She just needs to let it out!

I laughed about the brandon taking orders comment... he is pretty good at it!!! Your arrangement turned out great... you're too hard on yourself. But then again i never like things that i create.

oh, and millie is totally creative... remember the mickey mouse cake??? and that was way before the cake classes.

YUMMO! I've seen these and thought about ordering one for whatever reason (haven't come up with one that justifies the cost). It looks great! I think we all can be too critical of ourselves. You know as good ol Al Franken aka Stewart Smalley says "compare and despair". EEK! can't believe I had to quote him.
