A few weeks ago I decided to build Ellery a bed... after all, she THINKS she's a big girl now! I wanted to build the bed myself (no, that does not mean buying the parts from IKEA, or someplace like that, and assembling it) I wanted to design and build a bed just for her!
Millie wasn't too keen on the idea and wanted to just buy a "cute" bed from a store. Apparently she does not understand the inner workings of a man's brain that drives us to: A) cook outdoors, B) play/watch sports, C) channel surf at 90 mph, D) put our hand down our pants when we watch TV, E) maintain a nice yard, and F) build stuff (also considered "using power tools").
Rather than try to explain the need to build, I just told her it was important to me to do it, and she reluctantly granted me permission. Thanks Bean!
I don't think it turned out as "cute" as Millie wanted, but I like it, and more importantly, Ellery likes it!!! I built it so the head board and foot board can easily connect and disconnect from the side runners with actual rail brackets to make moving easy!

Yay Ellery and her new bed! And wow Jacob I love the bed. It is very well put together. I love the detail even on the headboard and footboard. You did a great job :)! I am even jealous that it is a spongebob bed! Ellery looks like she is so happy to have it! good work! And Millie you are a good wife :) Letting Jake build the bed.
Wow Jake, that looks great! Is that a green fuzzy mattress cover like the blue one I sent? Did you get that one at IKEA or elsewhere?

It turned out great Jacob!!! NO, it's not as cute as the beds at the store but I still like it! You did a very good job!!!!!!!!!!!!! And Ellery likes it too!
Oh, and Tevia, that is the green blanket you made for Jacob a long time ago. We love it! It's so comfy!

Ellery looks like she loves it. She's a big girl now. I'm impressed and proud of you for making such a cool bed for her and when she gets older she'll cherish it cuz her 'daddy' made it. I wish I had saved the crib your dad made when Tev was a baby. I think it became fire wood or something......oh well. Good job!
